A Pomeranian, comprehensively educated, he graduated from Polish philology, law and administration, and management. At the beginning of the 1990s, he was Secretary of Krokowa Gmina and a councillor of Puck Poviat. From March 2008, he was a director of the Central Sports Center of the Olympic Preparations Center "CETNIEWO" in Władysławowo. From February 2010 to the end of the previous term, he was Secretary of State at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism. Prime Minister Donald Tusk appointed Mr Ryszard Stachurski as Pomeranian Governor.
